Earlier this month, I took a moment to pause in the midst of the craziness that is preparing for the arrival of our new Fall/Winter ‘22 Collection. As I sat there thinking about this collection—all the beautiful pieces, the different materials used, the hands of the women that made it, all the imagination it took to create it, I started to ask myself, “What is one word that comes to mind when I think about this collection?”
Immediately the word renewal came to me.
As a lover of words, immediately I pulled up an online dictionary to read its exact definition. The first definition hit me square in the face:
As soon as I read the definition, I realized something very special about this collection. It is our first full collection since BEFORE the pandemic. We definitely experienced an interruption but it’s time to resume our creating and dreaming and exploring and inventing.
Is there something you loved that got interrupted by the pandemic or a life challenge? Is it time for renewal?
When I look at this collection of pieces for the home, I am inspired and proud of the resilience it represents. I see the colors and textures and hope. I see the hours and hours our artisans put into creating each piece. I even see the challenges over the last few years and even months and see us rising stronger. Growing. Learning. Not quitting.
This collection is special. It almost feels like a new beginning. I kinda chuckled when I read this definition “among charismatic Christians”:
(among charismatic Christians) the state or process of being made spiritually new in the Holy Spirit.
But renewal is just that—being made new again. And that’s what this collection means to me, being made new again. We have learned so much over the last few years. It has been hard and painful and downright devastating at times, but here we are starting a new day, a new chapter, a new collection.
Over the next few months, I’m excited to share with you some core tenets in this renewal process, but for now, I just want to share with you the joy of renewal. Thank you for walking this road to renewal with us. We hope that you find in this collection, a piece (or pieces) that inspire hope in your home. That each time you look at it, use it, hold it in your hands—you remember that no matter life’s interruption, all things are being made new again. And that’s renewal.
