Founder & Director
When I was 16, I had an opportunity to travel to Honduras on a mission trip. When I stepped off the plane in San Pedro Sula, I felt like I had come home. From that point on, it was always about getting back to Honduras. Through my travels, I began to learn about the challenges that women in rural Honduras face each day. I saw a need for jobs--jobs that would empower and renew hope. In 2012, I had a crazy idea to create bracelets from pine needles and thread. I was introduced to Dilcia. I showed her rough sketches and asked if she thought it was possible. She said yes. That was the beginning of SoloHope. SoloHope has grown over the years to include community development and other aspects but our artisan team and creating jobs will always hold my heart. Working alongside our artisan team and the people of Honduras is one of the greatest privileges of my life. I will forever be grateful for our SoloHope community and how they have carried me through some of my darkest hours. They are my family.

Founding Artisan
It all started with a bracelet. It was a challenge to start making new products but I asked God for wisdom, and we are still learning new designs. Now that I bring an extra income to home, we have been able to remodel our kitchen, install electricity in our house and support my kids’ education. My family and I are so blessed!
I want to see more women from the community working with us.

I started making products with Dilcia and it was only the two of us. Over the years more women have join us, and we now are a group of 11 artisans. Making products for SoloHope has changed my family´s life. My children kept studying after sixth grade and that is a big thing here. People in this area normally can't afford to send their kids to secondary school or college. I feel proud of my kids and I know that is thanks to my hard work.
See my daughter graduating from Nursing School and have a bigger group of artisans working with us.

Communications Coordinator
I'm excited to be in a community that believes in the ability of hope as a change catalyst. SoloHope does amazing work and from the few weeks I've been working here, I already feel at home.
I've seen plenty of nonprofits that do work for others in different countries, but SoloHope is different. Often you see groups coming in and working on projects without any input from the community they work in. Relationships are at the root of what SoloHope does and it's beautiful. SoloHope holds hands with community members and works together for change. I feel so honored to work for an organization who has a heart for community and I can't wait to see all the awesome things that God will do through SoloHope.
For sure the HOPE Bead Bracelets!
"He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." I frequent Micah 6:8 as a reminder of who I'm supposed to be as a child of the king.

I met Ever and Emilee when they lived in Honduras. We were neighbors. They told me about SoloHope, and I volunteered with some of their activities. Little did I know I was going to be part of the team.

I met Emilee around 2016, and she shared with me about SoloHope. I started following the page on social media so I kind of knew about the project but I did not have communication with Emilee. One day, in January 2022, I received a message from her asking if we could meet for a coffee. We talked about the projects that SoloHope has and about me. Days later, Emilee and Ever invited me to join the team.
